Acadia National Park is the first National Park that lays to the east of Mississippi river and it the only national park in the North-eastern United States. Acadia National Park was first named as Sieur De Monts National Monument in the year 1916 by the proclamation of President Woodrow Wilson. The in the year 1919 it was again renamed as Lafayette National Park. Finally; in the year 1929, this park was again renamed as Acadia National Park.
The United States of America had issued a commemorative coin with the theme of Acadia National Park in the year 2012.
