Benjamin Franklin was an American polymath and one of the founding father of the United States of America. He was born in Boston on 17th January 1706 CE. He is well known for his theories and discoveries regarding electricity. He was and a leading author, politician, scientist, inventor, civic activist, statesman and diplomat. He had founded many civic organizations, Library Company, Philadelphia's first fire department and the University of Pennsylvania. During the American Revolution, he had served as Second Continental Congress and had also helped draft the Declaration of Independence in the year 1776 CE.
