West Virginia is one of the states of the United States of America; it is located in the Appalachian region in the southern United States, which is also considered as the part of the Middle Atlantic States. The capital of the largest city of this state is Charleston. West Virginia is 41st largest state and 38th populous state of United States of America.

West Virginia State is located for its mountains and rolling hills, it is well known for its wide range of outdoor recreational opportunities which also includes Skiing, white water rafting, fishing, hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, rock climbing, and hunting.

The United States of America had issued this commemorative quarter dollar in the year 2005. This quarter dollar is 5th coin release in the year 2005 and overall it is 35th coin release in 50 States Quarters Program. The reverse of this coin depicts the scenic beauty of the New River and the New River Gorge Bridge.
