Wisconsin State Quarter Dollar

2019-04-10 Wed

Wisconsin was one of the states of the United States of America. It is located in the North-Central part of United States in the Midwest and Central Lakes region. State Wisconsin got its name after a Wisconsin river; this name is given by one of the Algonquian-speaking Native American groups living in this region at the time of European contact.

Geographically, Wisconsin had a large impact of glaciers during the Ice Age with the exception of the Driftless areas. Wisconsin is one of the largest nation’s leading dairy producers; particularly in cheese, due to this reason it is also known as ‘America’s Dairyland’. Other sectors like information technology (IT), cranberries, ginseng, and tourism are also major contributors to the state's economy.

The United States of America had issued a commemorative quarter dollar with the theme of State Wisconsin in the year 2004. This quarter dollar is the fourth coin released in the year 2004 and overall it is a 30th coin released in 50th State Quarters Program. The reverse of this coin depicts an agricultural theme which features the head of the cow, round cheese and an ear of corn.
