Fath Shah ruled Kashmir for three different years. His first reign (AH 892-904; AD 1487-1499); His second reign dated from (AH 910-920; AD 1505-1514) and his third reign dated from (AH 921-923; AD 1515-1517). Fath Shah issued coins in four metals during his reign gold, silver, copper and lead.
This gold tanka issued him was minted in Kashmir weighs around 11.27g. The obverse of this coin is inscribed as La Ila Il Allah Muhammad Rasul Allah in the centre and Hiza al dinar dar al sultanate Kashmir Sanah 876 around. The reverse of this coin is inscribed as Kibr e-Mamlakat Kih Muhr (or Mihr) e-Daulat Ast Sikkah e Fath Shah Sultan in Kashmir Ast. This gold tanka is listed for INR 3,50,000 in the upcoming auction of Todywalla which will be held in Mumbai on 20th April 2019.
