The Korean War was fought between North Korea and South Korea during the 1950-1953. North Korea had fought this war with the support of China and the Soviet Union and South Korea had fought this was with the support of the United Nation, with the principal support from the United States. This war began on 25th June 1950 when North Korea invaded South Korea with a series of clashes in the border.The cold war which took place between the Soviet Union and the United States divided Korea into two sovereign states North Korea and South Korea in 1948. North Korea was established as a socialist state under the leadership of Kim II Sung. South Korea was established as an anti-communist leader under the leadership of Syngman Rhee. Both governments of the two new Korean states claimed to be the sole legitimate government of all of Korea, and neither accepted the border as permanent.
The United States of America had issued this one dollar with the theme of the Korean War in the year 1991. This commemorative was issued to honour the men and women who had served in this war.
