After World War II in the year 1945, the 33rd President of United States of America Harry S. Truman, ask Father Flanagan to travel around the world to visit war orphans and advice foreign government how to take care of displaced children.
Father Edward Flanagan was a Catholic Priest, who used to run a non-profit organization known as ‘Boys Town’ which provides care to children and families of all races in underserved areas of the U.S. The Boys Town became very famous after the success of a movie in the year 1938 ‘Boys Town’.
The United States of America had issued a commemorative coin in $5 coin, silver one dollar and clad half dollar coin. This commemorative $5 dollar was issued by the United States of America in the year 2017. This was issued on 12th December 2017, to commemorate to 100 Anniversary of Boys Town.
