Fort McHenry is a historical American coastal pentagonal bastion fort located in the Locust Point neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland. Fort McHenry played an integral part in the forming of America's national identity.

The reverse of this coin depicts the picture of ‘Defence Day’ celebration, considered the centerpiece annual event held at Fort McHenry. The fireworks symbolize the "rocket's red glare," linking the fort to its historic past.
