Muhammad Azam Shah Silver Rupee Listed For INR 1,25,000

Muhammad Azam Shah was the eldest son of sixth Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. He was also appointed as the heir apparent to his father in the year 1681. He sat on the Mughal throne after the death of Aurangzeb in the year 1707 CE. In the same year, he was defeated by his stepbrother Muhammad Mu’azzam in the battle of Jajau, who later sat on the Mughal throne by the title ‘Bahadur Shah I’.This silver rupee was issued by ruler Muhammad Azam Sha in the Hijri year 1119 during the first year of his reign. This silver rupee is listed for INR 1,25,000 in the upcoming auction of Oswal Auction house which will be held on 15th December 2018 in Pune.
