Greenland Post released two stamps to celebrate the Christmas holiday. It the first Greenland stamps with added scent. The stamp has the fragrance of cinnamon and pine. It is designed by Ivinguak Stork Hoegh. These stamps depict traditional Christmas ornaments such as snowflakes and gingerbread and Christmas cookies. This Christmas stamps are offset-printed and issued in sheets of ten identical stamps.

People of Greenland believe that Santa Claus lives in Greenland. In Greenland New Year's Day is celebrated twice, it because in Greenland by eight in the night it’s the New year ’s day in Denmark and at midnight, it New Year’s Day in Greenland.
