150 Years of Allahabad Court Celebrated by Department of Posts

The High Court of Judicature at Allahabad is celebrating 150th Year in 2016. On this occasion, Department of Posts has issued a set of two commemorative stamps.Established by Royal Charter in March 1866, Allahabad High Court is one of the first High Courts established in India.
The court started with the strength of 6 judges and at present it has the strength of 160 (permanent and additional) judges, making it the biggest court in the country.
The Department of Posts issued a set of two stamps with Rs15 and Rs5 denomination depicting the Main Building of Allahabad High Court and Lucknow Bench wing, respectively.
The High Court Celebrated Centenary year in 1966; with yet another stamp release with the denomination of 15 paise.
