These Commemorative coins were issued by the United States of America to honour the Marine Corps and all the Marines who have sacrificed their lives for the contribution in our Nation’s Service. This silver dollar was issued in the year 20052 in an occasion to celebrate the 230th Anniversary of United Marines Corps.

The United States Marine Corps is also known as United States Marines, This is the branch of United States Armed Force which carries out the activities like conducting expeditionary and amphibious operations with United States Navy, Army and Air Force. These Marines Corps are one of the four armed service branches of U.S Department of Defence (DoD) and one of the seven uniformed services of the United States. The Marines have served its nation and defended the values and freedoms at the heart of America. They have also played an important role form an operation of from the start of American Revolution till Operation Iraqi Freedom; the Marines have been part of all the military milestones in U.S history.
