Mysterious UFO on 1680 French Token

2016-03-04 Fri

A 17th century French token, known as an ancient jeton, a coin-like object used for counting or educational purposes, depicts an unusual yet interesting inscription of a flying saucer.

Some believe that it’s the Biblical Ezekiel's wheel, the Bible's own tale of a UFO encounter where four beings emerge, each accompanied by a wheel. The wheels are gyroscopic, each like a wheel intersecting another wheel. When the winged beings rise into the sky, the wheels rise as well, or move in any direction to match them.

Others have argued that it looks like a drifting mushroom or flower, or even a shield. It also resembles the towers built for the World's Fair, popularly known as alien ships in the Men in Black film.

Scott C. Waring, editor of UFO Sightings Daily mentions that this token is a proof of UFO sightings that were according to him, more frequent in ancient times.

This French jeton was minted somewhere between 1856 and 1680. Thousands of other jetons with different religious and educational designs were produced and used in Europe during the 16th and 17th centuries.
