In 1942, copper lincoln cents were temporarily suspended as copper was required in war materials. In 1943, Lincoln cents with zinc clad (thin plating of zinc) on steel core were introduced, weighing 2.7 grams as against 3.11 grams of copper cents.1943 steel pennies are very common but uncirculated one can fetch upto USD 10-20.
However, few copper cents were minted in 1943 which are very rare. A better specimen can bring upto USD 2,00,000
