Celebrating 400 years of Shakespeare, on coins!

William Shakespeare, a writer who needs no introduction! He was an English poet, playwright, and actor, is widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist.In a first, the UK Royal Mint has issued a commemorative set of three coins each celebrating the famous genres of Shakespeare’s works: history, tragedies and comedies. The Royal Mint has struck three official £2 coins in his honour. Each cupro-nickel coin is of 12 grams.
Each coin has an inscription on the edge:
History: “The Hollow Crown”
Tragedy: “What a piece of work is man”
Comedy: “All the Worlds a Stage”
These coins are issued to commemorate 400th death anniversary of this legendary writer.
