The 2016 Olympic Games that would kick-start in Brazil this year, is being celebrated by Belgium with a circulating commemorative 2 Euro coin.

A beautifully inscribed figure of the five Olympic rings and the letters ‘TEAM BELGIUM’ would go on the coin’s obverse. On the left, the year ‘2016’ appears where as the country code ‘BE’ is featured on the right, between the mark of the Brussels Mint, and the signature mark of the master of the Mint. The coin’s reverse carries the common European map design. A total of 375,000 coins are due to be released in March.

Every participating nation is allowed to issue up to two such kind of commemorative coins with a choice of their design.
