The French Republic issued a set of 7 picturesque stamps. Issued in 1961 these stamps aim at promoting tourism of the country.France is a country of rich history and varied heritage, evidences of which can be seen in the every corner of the country. France is not just about Eifel Tower, Louvre Museum, Palace of Versailles or number of Beaches.
Each and every place of France is a scenic and beautiful tourist destination. These seven stamps of 1961 agree with this. This set includes seven stamps depicting seven different and unique tourist destinations in France.
These stamps depict Vineyards and Cognac; Viaduct, Bridge and Castle, Dinan; Sailing, Arachon; Roman Gates of Lodi, Medea, Algeria; Chateau, Sully-sur-Loire; Town Hall and Clock Tower, Calais; Mountain View, Saint Paul.
The Stamps come in different denominations’ 0.15 cents to be the lowest and €1 to be the highest value.
