Royal Canadian Mint’s new ‘2016 Reflections of Wildlife Fine Silver 3-Coin Subscription’ series will bear iconic creatures of Canada. These coins will feature animals like grizzly bear, otter and arctic fox with their reflections uniquely cast in rippling water.A limited number of 15,000 of these coins will be minted, each of which is composed in one-half ounce of 99.99% pure silver and would cost US $29.
The first coin’s reverse shows a grizzly bear at the water’s edge. Finishing techniques enhance the reflection of the bear in the surface of the water. A classic Canadian landscape is depicted in the background.
The subsequent otter and arctic fox silver coins showcase similar imagery on their reverse sides. Reverse inscriptions on all of them include ‘CANADA’, ‘2016’ and ‘MB’ for their designer, artist Maurade Baynton.
The obverses feature Susanna Blunt’s effigy of Queen Elizabeth II with inscription that read ‘ELIZABETH II’, ‘D G REGINA’ and the legal tender face value of ‘10 DOLLARS’.
