It will now be making an equity investment in coin dealer Sovereign Rarities. The decision is a part of a five-year plan to expand its presence in the collector services market. The Royal Mint is more than 1,000 years old and Sovereign Rarities is a London-based numismatic dealership, made of a team of numismatic specialists having a collective experience of 100 years. The latter is a part of the British Numismatic Trade Association. It works with museums and other academic institutions to promote numismatics.
The Royal Mint has earlier bought and sold historic British coins to its customers. This latest collaboration will strengthen its reach in the collector coin market.
