Intelligence is a gift that is inborn in a human being. But to preserve it one has to nurture and cherish this talent with hard work and absolute determination because even a diamond is valued when it's polished with great craftsmanship. One such vibrant persona was Dadabhai Naoroji, the essence of his personality was so bright that even the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, looked up to him for guidance.Dadabhai Naoroji was born at Navsari in Gujarat State on 4th September 1825. His family background was quite underprivileged due to the death of his father at a very young age. At a very early age, he showed signs of keen intelligence and due to his brilliant academic career, he won a number of scholarship and opportunity.
He completed his education in England in 1855 and he also worked in England when India was passing from the turmoil of the 1857 revolution. He returned to India due to this revolt and enlists his service for the betterment of his motherland.
His coming years were the panels of success. He was one of the founders of the Indian National Congress and presided over it in the Lahore Session in 1893. He was elected as the member of British Parliament in 1892; a stamp is issued in memory of his high achievement.
Being a scholar and profound speaker, he bought out the number of issues faced by Indian in light to the British Government on social, educational and political platforms.
He achieved a lot of respect for his work in Indian freedom struggle, but what made him most respectable was his simple lifestyle and broad minded thinking which gave a path for the future freedom struggle.
To remember his achievements Indian post has issued a commemorative stampin 1963.
