The banknotes issued during these years by France are some of the most visually beautiful notes of all time. They have issued three type of notes of which we shall read below about one. The adjacent image is a 100 francs note issued on 27th February, 1924.

Obverse: In the centre is the face value of the note in words “CENT FRANCS” (100 Francs), legend “BANQUE DE FRANCE” (Bank of France) and serial number above. Below it is inscribed the use of note “PAYABLES EN ESPECES, A VUE, AU PORTEUR” (Payable as cash, on demand, to the bearer) with the date of issue and signature of the Cashier L. Platet and Secretary Aupetit under it. All of this is within a decorated inner box border having a watermark plain circle above. The image surrounding portrays blacksmith women holding their tools and their kids. The serial number of this note is P. 10356 and note number is 773.

Reverse: In the centre is a decorated shape with face value in numerical “100 FR” in it and a watermarked translucent circle above. Outside this box is a continuous legend on three sides “BANQUE DE FRANCE” and declaration on the fourth side that looks like a seating platform of marble. This is surrounded by an image of a blacksmith family fitting the whole note inside a decorated end.

Besides these, there are other Francs currency like 50 Francs and 1000 Francs which are also beautiful as them. Have you seen them yet?
