Architecture harbours the local cultural tradition and reflects the social demands, financial well-being, and religious practice of various periods. Hence, the analyses of architecture give evidence to the cultural diversity and give a unique perception to Indian culture and tradition.Indian art is inspired by religion, and due to this diverse landscape, Indian art is beautifully manifested on the different stone throughout the land. One of the beautiful examples is the ‘Pietra dura' art on the marble stone.
Pitera dur in the mosaic is a work of art done on hard stone with the different piece of coloured stone. This art highly illustrates the pictures out of pieces of coloured –stone. This resulted into decorative mosaics that were used in table-top and small wall panel.
This art signifies hardness and durability of the material used in the work. The stone used in this are quartzes, chalcedonies, granites and various colour-stone.
The art on Tajmahal illustrates this work of art, it is the marvels example of this artwork.
