Wrong Otter on the Latest Swiss Stamp
2017-05-19 Fri
A set of 4 stamps were issued on 2nd March by Swiss Post featuring baby animals. One of them features a young otter on a blue background. The stamp also depicts the denomination, country name, the designer's name Simon Hofer and year date. As per the description of the stamps, the Swiss post intended to feature the fish otter (Lutra lutra) without mentioning the name of the animal. The Asian dwarf otter, also known as the small-clawed otter was instead depicted by mistake. They do not have webbing and claws as young Fishing otters.Nevertheless, the stamp will continue to be on sale until March 2018 as per the earlier plan since they are in great demand. Officials are also sorry for the inconvenience caused.
