2017-05-18 Thu
A sheet of commemorative stamps was recently released by The Czech Post Office to observe the 75th anniversary of the attack on Reinhard Heydrich in May 1942. Heydrich was the acting protector of Bohemia and Moravia. The stamps feature the aircraft that got the Czech and Slovak paratroopers selected for the attack. It also depicts Heydrich’s destroyed limousine along with the machine gun and grenade used in the attack. It was the only assassination of an important Nazi during WWII giving exiled president Edvard Beneš a lot of respect among the allies when Czech resistance was not very strong.Latest News
