Hey… We are back with the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu! Talking about this avatar there are different opinion to it. According to Vaishnava belief, Krishna is regarded as eight Avataar of Vishnu while Sri Vaishnava list regards Balaram as the eighth avatar.However, let's go with the story of lord Krishna. Krishna is one the most loved and devoted Hindu deity. He is known for his mesmerizing stories! We all know Krishna was one the very important character in Mahabharata. From childhood, he showed his victory over demons. Krishna has been portrayed on many coins too! We have written a series of articles featuring the lordKrishna on coins.
Balarama, who is the elder brother of Krishna, is considered by some to the 8th avatar. He originated in Vedic times as a deity of agriculture and fertility. His stories are found in Mahabharata, Harivamsha, Bhagavata Purana, Krishna Charit Manas and other Puranas.
Vyasa Mahabharata states that after Balarama's death, he turned into a white snake and entered the present day Arabian ocean. So it can be concluded that Balarama is an avatar of Adishesha in Dwaparayuga.
