Nicaraguan Poet Ruben Dario Remembered on Special Banknotes

Nicaragua issued a commemorative 1,000-córdoba bank note remembering the 100th death anniversary of the country’s iconic poet Rubén Darío. The new note is green in colour just like the first note of this denomination that was released in January 2017.The obverse features a portrait of Darío, a daisy, and a verse from his poem “Pax” (Peace). The reverse features a dove of peace and another extract from “Pax.” Optically variable ink is used to form of a feather quill and ink pot within a paper scroll, microprinting, and a watermark. The note also comes with ultra-violet and infrared properties.
