Rare 1750 Swedish Copper Plate to be Auctioned

The Stephen Album Rare Coins’ sale is offering a special piece of 2 dalers copper 1750 Swedish plate money from 18th to 20th May. Issued under King Frederik I, the plate was headed towards India in 1783 before the ship sank in storms. It was later discovered from the wreck of the Nicobar off the coast of False Bay (Valsbaai), South Africa in 1987 by local fishermen.This Swedish copper plate money was demonetized in 1777 and was used to manufacture Danish-Indian coins. Graded Very Good condition, the corroded copper plate with readable central and corner stamps has an estimate of $100 to $150.
