A new series of circulating coins, including a new 2-riyal denomination, was released by Saudi Arabia on 13th December 2016. These coins now available for collectors in the USA through a dealer. With this new series, production of 1-riyal bank notes ended in Saudi Arabia. The new coins are smaller and lighter than the older ones.
