Part V: Rococo Theme Coin Issued By Palau As Part Of Tiffany Art Series
2016-01-14 Thu
Rococo is not a characteristic of an actual era of art history, but the final phase of Baroque art and architecture. The style is smooth, artistically squiggle, decorative, and divided into small sections. While Baroque is all about theatrics, grandeur, power, and force; Rococo withdraws into privacy and displays sensuality and lightness. Examples of this style can be found at the French King’s court in Versailles and the Bavarian Church of Wies which are displayed on the 2010 coin issued by Palau. With a face value of 10 Dollars and a mintage of 999 pieces, the coin contains 0.999 fine silver, weighs 2 oz. and measures 50 mm in diameter. The purple Tiffany glass inlaid in the window on the coin seamlessly integrates it into the Tiffany Art series.Latest News
