Kamloops Stamp Show

2017-04-20 Thu

On 22nd April, the 64-year-old Kamloops Stamp Club will be organising its annual Spring Stamp Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sahali Centre Mall on West Columbia Street. More than 100 people attend the show every year. The show offers stamps, collections, albums, stock books, first-day covers, covers, and more. The event will also have dealers, appraisals, stamps for beginners, and hourly draws.

The club has grown from three members to 24 members in the last 9 years. Members meet every second Tuesday of a month at Mt. Paul United Church on Laburnum Street.

Each member pools in $2 each to pay the rent. The club does not have a president or secretary and they conduct various kinds of workshops and lectures. New members who want to join don’t necessarily need to have any kind of prior knowledge of philately. The motive is to learn, share knowledge and promote the hobby. The show also offers a chance to collectors for assessment and appraisal of stamps.
