Very few would be aware of the fact that Martha Washington was once featured a Series 1886 silver certificate and it has a market value of $1,000! It was not George Washington who appeared on the first $1 note in 1862 but it was Salmon Chase. Since the $1 note is not very often counterfeited, it will not be redesigned. Almost 11.7 billion $1 notes are in circulation.The Dollar bill seeks an end to $1 bill which will be replaced by dollar coins. Cent coins will also be revoked if the bill is passed.
