Huvishka (151- 190 CE) was one of the powerful rulers of Kushan Dynasty. His reign is known as Golden Age of Kushan Era because he issued more gold coin types than all other Kushan Kings combined, leaving an impression that a river of money flowed from his mints. Numbers of coin Varieties are seen of the obverse and reverse types in Gold and Copper.

The given Gold Dinar is one of his masterpieces weighing around 7.69 gms. The bust of the king is shown facing left holding scepter in one hand and spear over the left shoulder. The reverse of the coin depicts Mao (Moon God) standing, facing left and right hand on the waist. It has a legend ‘MAO’ and tamgha on left.
