Black-veined White Butterfly on Mongolian Coin

Mongolia released a 500 Togrog 2017 .999 fine silver 25 g Proof coin with a mintage limit of 2,500 pieces designed by Coin Invest Trust. The obverse features the coat of arms, name of the country, material, fine content, weight, and nominal value. The reverse depicts a colourful 3D butterfly APORIA CRATAEGI. The coin surface looks like a flower with colour elements, along with inscriptions EXOTIC BUTTERFLIES and APORIA CRATAEGI.The Aporia Crataegi butterfly can grow up to eight cm and is known as “black-veined white” as its wings are pure white in colour while the males have black veins and a small black spot. They feed on thistle and field flowers from Europe to Japan.
Coin Invest Trust released the seventh and the last issue in its Exotic Butterflies series featuring the black-veined white butterfly. Coins in this series were released by a different country every year. High-end smartminting technology relief was used to create the three-dimensional black-and- white butterfly.
