“My Heart Will Go On”

This song sung by our beloved Céline Dion hits us as deeply as the movie it was sung in. Featuring as the title track of Titanic this song has made a mark on our hearts. An amazing singer and the winner of a number of prestigious awards, she is a French Canadian pop singer born on 30th March, 1968.

Having performed in a small club owned by her parents along with her siblings, she was used to performing live since childhood. At age 12 she recorded a song in her native language, French, and sent it to a record company where it fell in the hands of Rene Angelil, a respected manager. Rene believed in her music so much that in order to support her debut album he mortgaged his house. She later married him in 1994 and remained so until his death in 2016.

Her debut album was ‘La Voix du Bon Dieu' (The Voice of God) (1981) and with this began her amazing career. She has delivered numerous hit songs and albums over the years like "Ne partez pas sans moi" (Do Not Leave Without Me), "Where Does My Heart Beat Now", ‘Beauty and the Beast' (1991), etc. Deux (1995), her French album became the best-selling Francophone album of all time.

Her most loved song still remains ‘My Heart Will Go On' from Titanic (1997) garnering her immense popularity and making her the second-highest earning musician in history. She has won twelve World Music Awards, five Grammy Awards, eleven Billboard Music Awards, seven American Music Awards, twenty Juno Awards, forty-three Félix Awards and many others as yet.

Guinea Post issued this commemorative miniature stamp sheet of Celine Dion in 2007 worth 25000 Guinean Francs. The sheet also has a brief biography of the singer on the right-hand side.
