This silver hundred Falus was minted in the reign of King Zorawar Khan of Radhanpur State in 1867 AD.

Radhanpur is a Princely State of British India under Palanpur Agency of Bombay Presidency. It was established in 1693 by the founder of Babi dynasty, Khan Jahan. Radhanpur came under British rule in 1813 AD.

The obverse flan of this coin depicted the title and name of the King with Hijri date 1284 AH in Persian. The reverse flan of this coin depicts a Persian legend with Queen Victoria’s name and date 1867 AD. Reverse flan also depicts Mint name and Julus formula.

The flan of this silver coin is illustrated with beautiful ornamental flower. In the comparison with the regular issues which are quite crude in their minting quality and edges, these coins show a fine detail and care.

The Nawabs of Radhanpur minted their own coins until 1900. When state adopted Indian currency, the Nawab briefly introduced decimalization, with 100 Falus equalling one rupee. Radhanpur State joined the Union of India in 1948 and today it is a part of Gujarat State.
