125th Anniversary of Stanley Cup Celebrated on Canadian Coins

The 125th anniversary of the National Hockey League’s Stanley Cup was celebrated with the release of a special 25-cent coin on 17th March by Royal Canadian Mint.The reverse features the Stanley Cup, a hockey player in period uniform, another player wearing modern uniform and the symbols /MC. Other inscriptions include 1892, STANLEY, COUP in French and CUP in English, with associated branding marks, the year 2017 and 125 YEARS/ANS. The common portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt will be featured on the obverse.
