Tokens by Polin Brothers of Oatman, Ariz., and Goldfield, Nev to be Auctioned

On 25th March, Holabird Western Americana LLC at The National Hotel in Jackson, California will be offering tokens and medals like the one by Polin Brothers of Oatman, Ariz., and Goldfield, Nev. The 20-millimeter bronze token is graded About Uncirculated 55. The token was good for 6.25 cents in trade and has an estimate of $300 to $500.‘Tex’ Rickard and his partners ran the Northern Saloon. He set up a prize fight on Labor Day, 1906 to promote Goldfield. Joe Gans and Battling Nelson fought for the Lightweight Championship. Nelson was disqualified and Gans won the $30,000 prize money in the 42nd round.
Along with the token, a photo is also being offered, featuring the crowd at the Northern Saloon in Goldfield enjoying the match.
