Topical Stamps of Ghana
2017-03-11 Sat
The Republic of Ghana, formerly known as the British colony of Gold Coast got independence on 6th March 1957 and became a republic in 1960. Ghana has issued many colourful and beautiful topical stamps which are loved by collectors all over the world. Many used definitive stamps have been lost in mailstream or in kiloware packets. These include a set of 12 Fauna and Flora stamps issued from 2003 to 2007. They feature plants, fungi, birds, butterflies, and fish. All except five of them are known in mint never-hinged condition. Very few of them are bought and sold in the market to find catalogue values. It is very rare to find the complete set and they could be easily ignored in kiloware or loose stamp assortments, making them even more desirable.
