An old mansion was rented by Father Edward Flanagan to offer shelter to homeless children 100 years ago. The shelter was given a name “Boys Town,” and was officially founded on 12th December 1917. Boys Town Programs take care of more than 2 million children and families every year today.

The reverse features the family holding hands under an oak tree. The family also includes the girl from the obverse. Inscriptions include “…you write the history of tomorrow,” “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”

The coin will be sold at a discounted cost of $46.95 till 10th April 2017 and will be increased to the actual cost of $51.95 after that.
