Beautiful Tetradrachm by Ptolemy I

This lovely coin is struck by the Egyptian king Ptolemy I Soter who was a Satrap from 323-305/4 BCE. This particular 15.76gm AR Tetradrachm was struck in circa 311-305/4 BC. It is graded Choice About Uncirculated by NGC with full points for Strike 5/5 and Surface 5/5. It features the royal portrait of Alexander facing the right wearing elephant skin. He is also wearing an aegis around his neck with small triangles in scales. Other inscription includes Athena Alkidemos advancing to the right; to right, monogram, Corinthian helmet and an eagle.
