Rare Libyan Stamp to be Auctioned with a High Starting Bid

One of the two known 1927 1.25-lira-on-60-centesimo express mail stamps with surcharge in black will be offered by Heinrich Koehler auction in Wiesbaden, Germany from 20th to 25th March. It is one of the rarest Italian-colony stamps in the 20th century. Originally it was a dark red and brown 60c stamp issued in 1923. It got a 1.25-lire surcharge with the blue overprint in 1927.The unused stamp with original gum and hinge mark is signed Albert Diena with his 1958 certificate. The stamp is valued at a starting bid of €25,000.
