Mintage World at 8th National Numismatic Exhibition

Mintage World is participating in the 8th National Numismatic Exhibition by Marudhar Arts from 24th to 26th February. Numismatists and coin collectors from all over the country have come down to take a look at the beautiful rarities offered at the event.The exhibition showcases several interesting Travancore coins. Another highlight is the 600-500 BC silver bentbar from the Gandhara Janapada known for its iconography. The best of the lot is the rare Gold Mohur, issued during the reign of Shah Jahan III.
Another interesting coin offered at the event is the Silver Rupee from Rajapur Mint, issued during Aurangzeb’s reign and Tokens from Cocos (Keeling) Islands with the denomination in rupee. These coins are unique for their shape and are made out of plastic ivory.
Apart from coins and currency, the exhibition is also showcasing several other interesting artefacts such as Coupons given to World War 2 Prison of Wars, a khadi charkha used by the Mahatma Gandhi and so on.
