The 80th anniversary of the first woman aviator, Amelia Earhart to fly alone across the globe was celebrated with the release of an 8¢ Amelia Earhart airmail stamp on 24th July 1963. The American aviator crossed the Atlantic but vanished on 2nd July 1937.
