Royal Canadian Mint 2017 Catalogue

2016-02-15 Mon

Canadian history along with popular natural and cultural iconography will be celebrated on Royal Canadian Mint's newest collector coins. The 100th anniversary of the dreaded explosion in Halifax on 6th December 1917 will be observed on the annual $100 14 Kt gold coin. The coin features the French munitions ship SS Mont-Blanc and a broken clock showing the time of the blast. 2,000 people lost their lives and 9,000 were injured.

Coins celebrating Canada's natural heritage will be cut-out based on the theme of endangered species. The 2017 $30 Fine Silver Coin – Endangered Animal Cutout: Woodland Caribou is the first in a new series. Another interesting coloured coin is the 2017 $10 Fine Silver Coin – Dog Sledging Under the Northern Lights. More information about the 2017 Canadian collector coins is available on www.mint.ca.
