Designs of 2019 Quarters and OSS Medal to be Discussed

On 15th February, the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) will be organising a 1-hour teleconference meeting to discuss themes for the five 2019-dated coins belonging to America the Beautiful Quarters Series.The 56-quarter program began in 2010 celebrating national parks and other national sites in 50 states, the District of Columbia and the five U.S. territories. 2019 quarters will be dedicated to Lowell National Historical Park in Massachusetts, American Memorial Park in Northern Mariana Islands, War in the Pacific National Historical Park in Guam, San Antonio Missions National Historical Park in Texas, and Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness in Idaho.
Themes and designs for the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) Congressional Gold Medal honouring contributions during World War II will also be discussed. The OSS introduced strategic intelligence before the CIA, the U.S. Special Operations Command and the State Department’s Bureau of Intelligence and Research.
