Canada’s 150th Anniversary Celebrated With a 12-Coin Set

A new collection of 12 coins from the Royal Canadian Mint was released to celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary. The collection includes the first-ever circulating glow-in-the-dark coin. The other coins in the special collection are:three $2 coins,
two $1 coins,
three 25-cent pieces,
two 10-cent coins, and
two 5-cent coins.
Seven coins are the winners from the My Canada, My Inspiration contest:
a regular and glow-in-the-dark $2 Dance of the Spirits,
a $1 Connecting a Nation,
a regular and color 25c Hope of a Green Future,
a 10c Wings of Peace and
a 5c Living Traditions.
The glow-in-the-dark coin is not sold separately. The other five coins depict the polar bear, common loon, caribou, Bluenose, and beaver. The coins are attached on a maple leaf-shaped card stand that allows viewers to look at both sides of the coin easily. The set is offered for CAD $34.95 and can be ordered online.
