Pinocchio: A tale of Bravery and Truthfulness

Pinocchio is an American animated musical fantasy film produced in 1940 by Walt Disney pictures and it was released today in theatres by RKO Radio Pictures.

This movie is based on the Italian Children novel ‘The Adventures of Pinocchio’ by Carlo Collodi. The plot revolves around a puppet name Pinocchio who was carved by an old wood-carver named Geppetto. Pinocchio is brought to life by a blue fairy and she informs him that he can become a real boy if he proves himself to be brave, truthful and unselfish.

In his journey to become a real human boy he faces many obstacles and unsavoury characters but he overcomes all his problems. In this entire ordinal jiminy cricket is his conscience that helps him to achieve his full potentials. This movie is a simple tale which presents the benefits of handwork and the value of middle class society.

Pinocchio is the first animated movie to win a competitive Academy award and best music. The characters of the movie are features in various Disney Parks in form of entertainment for children’s. This movie was added to National Film Registry in United state because it’s significant culturally, historically and aesthetically.

To celebrate this second animated movie of Disney production USPS postage issued a stamp in 2004 depicting an art of Friendship between Jiminy Cricket and Pinocchio.

The moral of this movie is that, sometimes a friend has to play the role of official conscience for us. Although Pinocchio doesn’t always want to hear what Jiminy Cricket has to say, this chipper little fellow is a steady, stalwart mentor that Pinocchio needed the most.
