New Rs 100 banknotes featuring the Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005 design will be soon released by the RBI. The inset letter R will be included in both the number panels along with Governor of RBI - Dr Urjit R Patel’s signature. The reverse will feature the year of printing - 2017.

All the features have been retained, like the ascending size of numerals in the number panels, bleed lines, and enlarged identification mark on the obverse. Rs 100 notes that were issued earlier will continue to be legal tender.
