Australia Post issued its first 3D stamp sheet in October 2011. On the occasion of Stamp Collecting Month Australia Post issued a set of six stamps featuring 3D images of Mythical Characters.

The fantastic world of ancient myth and legend is featured in this stamp issue with six mythical creatures including a fairy, troll, mermaid, griffin, unicorn and a dragon. There are five 60 cents stamps and one $1.20 stamp.

As mythical creatures are popular among the children, this issue basically aims at educating children about history, geography and culture as well as about the hobby of stamp collecting.

The 3D mini sheet comes with viewing glasses.
