Ukraine Post celebrated New Year in Stone Age. This new and amazing philatelic issue of Ukraine features the cultural epochs of the country: especially the Palaeolithic Era aka the Stone Age.

Stone Age is the start and the longest period of human history, which began about 1 million years ago - up to 10 thousand years BC. It was during this period in the territory of modern Ukraine the first humans appeared. Their resettlement has occurred in two ways: from the Europe and the Caucasus. The Palaeolithic was characterized by the proliferation of primitive implements of wood, stone and bone, the rule of hunting and gathering.

Ukrposhta – the Ukraine Post issued a set of two stamps along with an FDC and Miniature Sheet. The miniature sheet depicts the portraits of two cavemen along with the art and crafts of the time such as the shell necklace, pottery, and wall-painting.

Both the stamps carry the same denomination of 7.5 Ukrainian hryvnias and depict the daily life of the Palaeolithic men i.e. hunting as well as their life as a nomadic tribe.

If you are philatelist and a history lover these stamp will certainly appeal to you!
